Our Institute was started in 1991 by our Hon., State Government under the leadership of our beloved founder Director, Dr.D.G.Benakapppa with his trusted aid Mr. Muddalingappa, few doctors and staff.  It was started with noble Pediatric Intention of providing quality care  “STATE OF ART”  facility for   children, especially for poor children of society.  Now it is 500 bedded hospital with facilities in all faculties of Pediatrics like intensive care (140 beds), neonatal ICU(40), medicine, surgery, ENT, orthopedics and Dental care, anaesthesia, dermatology.  In addition we have center of excellence in HIV, rare diseases(genetic), and club foot clinic, neurodevelopment.  Also we have special nodal centres like thalesemia nutritional rehabilitation center.  Every day we receive 500 outpatients, 60-70 inpatients, 15-20 emergency cases.  All sorts of procedures, surgeries are undertaken. 

In addition we have post graduate seats in medicine(22), Mch.,(8) and fellowship courses in our subspeciality, various research programmes are undertaken.
